I live just outside brandon and considering the netset/explornet 50 package. If you have the service, can you tell me how it is for you?  
I'm specifically wondering about actual vs package download speeds and ms response time for gaming.  
Do they still ding you for overages, or do they throttle?

Don’t do it unless you have zero other options. Horrible service and terrible speeds. Even sending an eTransfer can be painful!

LTE you can get unlimited data.  
It’s all about line of sight, trees and terrain.  
Of course, if you can get fibre internet go for it instead but if not then give it a try.

I've been using inet/netset/xplornet for many years and with good line of sight I have been very satisfied. A site/signal assessment from xplornet will tell you if their service will work for you.

I'll give them a call, I want to find out what they have for service guarantees. I'm certainly not going to pay for 50 and get 15.

I lived in Alexander and had a great experience with Netset. The speed was much faster than BellMTS and the one time I had an outage they were there to fix it within a day.  
It was more expensive than the internet through BellMTS but the speed was worth it.

As Netset has been bought out by Xplornet. I have had no trouble with them for nearly 15 years. Their internet is unlimited, in the true sense of the word. No throttling, ever. Call them and specifically ask about packages. At times depends on your location.

When it was originally inet based out of Brandon service was good. If you had problems and you called for tech service and they were busy would take name and number and get back to you. When xplornet bought Inet out service was constantly down and a minimum 2 hour wait to talk to a tech. It eventually got better until Covid hit and kids were home schooling internet was down in the mornings on a regular basis. It is like cell service in the rural areas it is hit and miss if you get good service with it.

I live out at meadowbrook village and we have had it now for approximately 3 years and we have had no issues with it. Great speed, no complaints

The thing with Netset and Xplornet is that it has to have a physical line of site to the signal. When I lived in Meadowbrook Village we had Netset, then when teh trees grew too tall, we had to switch to Xplornet satellite, which was horrible, and expensive!  
 
With both, you will experience outages during heavy snow and rain events. And during peak times you will experience speed drops, like terrible speed drops.  
 
Don't even talk to me about latency!! Because of the signal type, your ping is going to be very high. At times, I was gaming with a ping of around 600 to 1000ms!!!!  
 
If you are gaming, don't mess around with speeds and latency. Get fibre if you can, and don't look back! I haven't.

If you want to game look into starlink. Ping is better than netset/xplorenet and so is download speed. I get around 200mbps down and around 50-60 ping. Unlimited usage.
