I’m trying to wrap my head around the fact that it’s so hard to get rapid tests in mb but yet in Saskatchewan you get a free pack of 5 at the grocery store . Are the testing sites the only place you can get them in Manitoba?

No kidding  
 
Quite comical that we are scrambling to get rapid tests to our residents finally in this 4-5 wave.  
 
Hard to take this government serious with all they say are doing

About 3 weeks ago they had 9 million tests available, maybe don’t agree with all that they have done but they have been pretty progressive in a lot of areas.  
Maybe be I’m naive, but I do have faith in people, and believe that if the quick tests had been made available earlier on, we might have a slightly different picture today.

Please note, these are not available at ACC (the college proper). If available, it would be through the Provincial testing site (located on the south side of the building (1430 Victoria Ave. East).

got some from our sons school. My in-laws have been sending them over from Germany. Available everywhere there.

You should go to the testing centre located on the ACC campus....DO NOT walk into ACC and tell them that you have COVID!

So, you can just drive up and ask for the tests to take home?

If you are symptomatic (or at least if you tell them you are,) they will supply you with one box of rapid tests, containing 5 tests. They only give one box per person, so if you are the only one in the vehicle, you only get one box.

So if you are a family of 5 who all have symptoms, you are supposed to load everybody up in the car just so you can get ample tests to test everybody? That’s ridiculous

That’s my point . I don’t know why Manitoba can’t make them more available like other provinces. It will only add another tool for the fight . Most people don’t want to wait in line just to get a test when they could pick one up shopping in a store . Makes no sense. Unfortunately Manitoba has dropped the ball yet again .

If someone suspects they may have Covid and are seeking tests they should not be INSIDE any store.

You can get them if you are fully vaxxed but not fully reliable.  
 
I was symptomatic and got a box through the drive through testing site, was told to test myself and if it was positive to come back and get a regular test completed.  
 
Tested positive on the rapid test but negative one the regular one. And yes had all symptoms, not fun but fine now

If you're asymptomatic you shouldn't be going to the government testing site or using up the public supply of tests. There are private companies in Brandon that you can purchase rapid and PCR testing from for peace of mind purposes ('rapid tests brandon', 'elite', 'numi'). I've heard so many stories of people going to the sites with absolutely no symptoms or covid contact and being given a bunch of rapid tests when they're in short supply for actual symptomatic people!  
 
Also, Sask acquired like 14 million rapid tests for their 1 million people back in summer when nobody was looking for tests/demand was low. It was a good gamble among many many poor gambles of the sask govt. They're not progressive. They're our Texas. :-/

I wanted a rapid test was willing to purchase I called and was told in Virden no tests available to purchase. I had someone go in and ask and they were told at shoppers drug mart no test to purchase.  
 
I was lucky I had connections to sask and someone dropped it off for me.  
 
The government needs to hear we are upset. I have been law abiding and behaving. When they keep letting people do things so blatant disrespecting the laws and our citizens, like the protests in the summer with people not from our province, then I write them.  
 
I only had a real response from my own MLA. Premier's office form letter reply. Health minister nothing. Yes they are busy but maybe get your act together and pre plan instead of always behind the 8ball.  
 
You can not keep saying you were not prepared or did not expect things to happen like this.  
 
Sorry I have nothing more then a grade 12 education and I understood the severity when it started. Lets prevent more and not have to react to things in hindsight.

Why are these not available in our rural communities? Not everyone has the capability to travel to urban centres to get these. How many are going undiagnosed and not quarantining because they just feel it is a cold.
