Hello Everyone. While I don't normally post notices here for GoFundMe projects, from time-to-time one of "our own" Brandon citizens needs a helping hand. For more information about Peter Nissen (and his wife - Dana Austin ), please take some time to search their names out on the 50's 60's 70's East Enders fb page. They have been invaluable as volunteers in Brandon, saving the East End Community Centre, saving the East End Water tank, fundraising, revamping the Green Acres Community Center and Park Community Centre, to name just a few things they have done over many years of service to our Beloved City. Peter has always added a helping hand to many projects in Brandon over the years and completing many building and painting jobs for people in need while trying to run his contracting business. I am requesting any help/assistance anyone may be able to share in their time of need. Here is an update with regards to Peter’s hospitalization.  
 
I’d like to start by saying that I visited Peter today and he was happy and excited to get on with kicking this challenge’s butt! He has a very positive attitude and does not wish for sadness, tears, or anything the least bit negative. Peter overcomes obstacles and that is precisely his way forward here.  
 
Peter has what’s called Solid Organ Cancer, it’s in the colon. The cancer has spread to several other organs. He is also dealing with the lung clot as well. Peter has stage 4 cancer and it is terminal. Next week Peter begins an intense radiation regimen followed by chemotherapy.  
 
Again, Peter is looking at the things he can control and is focusing his positive attitude on that. As his friend, the prognosis upsets me, but I stand with Peter as I urge all of you to do and to move forward with ONLY positivity.  
 
Please consider assisting with funds for this family. Peter is now without income and financial stresses are the last thing he (or Dana) should be concerned with.  
 
The art auction will be later in June. Several artists have asked to donate works to the cause and they will be collected June 13th-18th.  
 
Lastly, thank-you to all of the generous donors and to the artists for their donations. Also, thank-you for the shares and to the people keeping this campaign front and centre.
