I hope you are going to call the Rentalsman. I am a landlord for 35+ years.
I have never heard of such a reaction from a landlord. You can charge extra for a person that’s not on the lease but if they’re married, you don’t stand a chance if I remember the rules make sure you call the Rentalsman. Period.
