I had a questionable experience trying to sell an item second hand. I was contacted by a person who said they would take it. 2 guys show up and say they will pay via etransfer. They start to pick it up and head out. I say stop I haven't received it yet. The guy sends it 3 times and shows me his phone etc. We are basically standing in my backyard looking at each other. Finally I ask can you just go to the bank and get the money. He says they will go and message him when it comes through and they will return. Half hour goes by and nothing so I message. He says he got another at a much lower price. The whole thing seemed really shady

I never let strangers pick items up at my home. We always do a prearranged meet somewhere that is safe for us both.

I’ve bought and paid for marketplace things using etranfer. Some go through in a minute, others take 15. But yeah, you have to hang out until the receiver gets the email about the funds being paid. Cash is simpler, but some don’t want it.  
But no way are you leaving with the item until I get that email.

comes in that the transaction can be cancelled the same day and funds retracted.  
I would just insist on cash, take a picture of the buyer/seller and as others have said meet somewhere safe. Did not the Police service have a meeting space or maybe just meet in their car park.

The police have a safe meet place just south of their parking lot near the monument. I would also recommend insisting on a cash only deal. Cash can't be cancelled or held back by the buyer after the transaction.

Hmm never heard of that one… no way in heck I’d ever allow someone to take a photo of me if I was selling or buying… are people consenting to this?? Or are you sneakily taking photos of people without their knowledge? Kinda creepy in my personal opinion
