Thought those tracks belong to CNR or was it a CPR train on the cn tracks.

I’m suspecting they are talking about the tracks the bridges go over which are cp rail. Cn tracks go through the city from first street by the hospital to 34th just south of park st.

Totally forgot about the new crossing on 34 street. As for me most time when I am on the north side of the river I will take first street to get back to the south side.
For me driving 5 extra minutes is less of a pain than sitting a minute while a train passes by. Lol

It’s definitely usually always worth your time to detour around the train. You’re never ‘sitting a minute’ with the trains in Brandon.. Yesterday they were blocking 34th and 26th intersections for at least 35 minutes. The only way to get across was single lane on 18th St or all the way down to 1st!

These things aren't precisely planned. At best they might get +/- two hours on their estimates. VIA Rail schedules are worse.

Via Rail has nothing to do with CP Rail. CN Rail operates that. Also, the rail lines were here long before the city grew to the size it is. So, drive over to 1st Street and carry on with your day. CP didn't put in the crossing at 34th street!

Be thankful for the 34th st . being extended in the first place. As for why 26th and 34th st. was blocked for an extended period time, its either they did a crew change or there were some delays when they are switching at their yard. The Daily Overpass will one day get done. Hopefully when Winter comes, they very heavily sand the bridge. The incline is fairly steep.
