Brandon lawyer who can get suspended driver's license back

I have a friend in Winnipeg whose son was suspended from driving. He dealt with a large firm in Winnipeg, had all his ducks in a row, the lawyer said he was confident. In the end, he just paid a lot of money for nothing. MPIC is un-wavering.  
Word of advice, do not drive suspended. The police in Brandon are just as un-wavering in getting suspended drivers off the road as MPIC is at keeping them suspended.

What was the reason for the suspension? Getting a lawyer and going to court would be useless in a lot of situations where a licence was suspended.
