There will be no charges laid against the bus driver of the Dauphin handi van on the way to the Casino. How is that accident any different than the Humboldt crash. The handivan driver proceeded when unsafe to do so as did the semi driver that hit the Humboldt bus.

The driver involved in the Humbolt crash did not stop at the stop sign. Although the same result, that may make a difference.

In addition to what was said above, it sounds like there were legit reasons why the driver may not have seen the semi coming. That, plus they have said that he has suffered a brain injury, the implication of that suggests he wouldn't be fit to stand trial anyway.  
 
Sometimes accidents are just that - accidents without legal culpability. It's gotta be a tough sell to some families, however.

More media attention in the humbolt accident,  
So more outcry,  
More action on driver.  
 
Probably ruined his life over a critical mistake non less then the carberry one .

To be clear, just because they aren't pursuing charges doesn't mean the driver did nothing wrong. They just can't prove it was all due to driver negligence with the evidence at hand.

The sounds of it the driver can’t give them his account of what happened or why . I am curious to know what medical conditions he has as a result of the crash .

At the media event earlier today, the Crown representative indicated the bus driver suffered a serious brain injury and now needs assistance to live his day to day life. His condition as a result of the brain injury is not expected to improve. I don't believe we need specific details of his injuries, if that's what you are asking for. Knowing that will change nothing. He does not remember the accident.

The answer to the OP question can be found in the RCMP news conference and the subsequent news reports. The difference has nothing to do with media coverage, public outcry, etc. Both the Humboldt semi driver and the Carberry bus driver proceeded when it was not safe to do so. The difference is that the bus driver is unable to give his account of the accident and would be therefore unable to stand trial, due to the brain injury he sustained in the crash.
