I know a handful of teachers that are losing out on positions to people fresh out of university due to them knowing someone with the division. Is it not ridiculous after the years of experience some of them have put in that they are losing out on positions to people with little to no experience. Just wanted to get that off as I know this person that just lost out on a job because the new hire happened to know the principal. . Absolutely ridiculous if you were in this profession and know what they deal with daily you’d have a problem with this.

It's been that way in Brandon forever, regardless of what career field you look at except retail. But pretty much everything else has been that way since I moved here 19 years ago. One could be fully qualified for a position, but if the person doing the hiring has a neighbour or friend whose son/daughter needs a job, tough for you. It's fruatrating as hell, I'll agree with you on that one.

If a teacher is employed in a school division and applies for a position, but someone with less seniority is awarded the position, can they not file a grievance with their union? I know in health care, that is how it would work.
