DANGER!!!!!!.... we need more lights....

....just a little concern of mine and maybe a few more of you.
First let me say I`ve recently moved to Brandon from the Toronto area of Ont.,. I`m really enjoyin the small town atmosphere and the friendliness of this city.
.... now to my point, OUR CROSS WALKS ARE ACCIDENTS WAITING TO HAPPEN.!!!!...eg. Van horne access to the hospital...each night and early morning i must travel this road to get to work, it`s dark out, I`m paying attention, but still someone in dark clothing looking down at the ground or talking on their cell phone, or just not paying attention crosses the road to get to work. I love the friendly Manitoba slogan and try to be curtious to everyone, but on severe occasions I have or witnessed some almost getting hit by a car. I have noticed this problem in several area of or fine town and it is frighting. I think that at that area, since it is a vital building A HOSPITAL... crossing indicator lights should be posted or better lighting.
... just my thoughts.
