THANK YOU TROOPS!

This afternoon my children and I attended a celebration in honour of the many troops that came home from overseas and celebrated with their families. I have a young infant and we were considerably late for the event, so I was expecting to have to park miles from the door. However, I was shocked to find most the people in attendance in uniform... where are all our Brandon citizens proud of our troops??? Some of our troops got off the plane after serving overseas for several months to no welcome home - not even so much as a coffee! They weren't even given a ride home! Brandon can do better. I hope this is just a matter of people not being aware of the event... but if it's awareness that's the problem... well, consider yourself now aware! I'd like to see the city put something special on for the troops. After all, they put their lives on the line and their families on hold for us. They deserve recognition and respect for their sacrifices, and with so many of our community members tied to our country's efforts in Afghanistan I'm surprised we haven't had a big event announced yet~!
From our home to yours, troops, WELCOME HOME!!!!!!!
