Westman Comm to roll out Home Phone service
11/27/2008 at 6:34 PM
Very interesting news in my home mailbox today... Westman Communications is in the process of rolling out Home Phone service in Brandon. It's currently being tested by "beta testers" who received the mailer and will soon be available to all of Brandon according to the letter they sent out.
As long as it's bundled with another Westman service, the cost will be $25.95/month including call number/name display, voicemail, call forwarding, call waiting & visual call waiting. For an extra $13.95 you also get unlimited Canada and US long distance.
You can also transfer your existing phone number and keep your same wiring/outlets.
I haven't tried the service yet, but as long as the quality is good this is going to get very interesting. We haven't really had full landline competition here as much as Vonage tried to get into this market.
It would be interesting to hear peoples' thoughts on this....
- is a landline phone something you use on a regular basis in your household?
- if so, will you be considering switching? why/why not?
