Bringing baby on the bus

My boyfriend has the car all day, and its much too cold to walk. My baby is only two months old, i was just wondering can you take a baby in a carseat on the bus?
This also may seem silly, but can you bring a dog on the bus? I was walking with my dog the other day and i was passing a bus stop just as a bus was coming and he actually stopped to let me on the bus. It would be nice for when my pup needs to go to the vet!
