On 2009-01-10 at approximately 1:04 a.m. Police received several calls regarding a fight at a Hotel in the 900 block of Pacific Avenue and in the 1000 block of Pacific Avenue. Upon arrival, police located an unconscious male, a second male suffering from a stab wound, one female suffering from being struck on the head with a bottle, and one female suffering from facial injuries as a result of being struck in the face with a bottle, all in 1000 block of Pacific Avenue.
Investigation revealed that a dispute erupted in the bar between patrons. During this altercation a beer bottle was thrown striking one of the parties involved in the head, before striking an innocent bystander and shattering. One of the parties chased the others out of the bar where a second altercation occurred resulting in the one male being stabbed in the arm and a second male, identified as one of the suspects, being knocked unconscious. Two other male suspects then fled the scene on foot.
The male victim was treated and released at hospital for a stab wound to his arm. The female victim that was struck in the face was treated and released and will receive further treatment for facial injuries. The other female was treated and released for a blow to the head.
An 18 year-old man was arrested and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Centre after being treated and released at hospital. Police are still investigating.
