Brandon Teachers Negotiations
1/13/2009 at 7:43 AM
Once again our elected public officials are shirking their responsibilities and keeping Brandon Teachers from working under a negotiated contract.
This has forced the Brandon Teachers Association to apply for Arbitration. An Arbitration hearing is generally heard by a Judge who is never familiar with the articles of contention and generally divvies up the requests from both sides, with the hope the concerned parties can live with his decisions.
Recently the Brandon University Board of Governors were persuaded to call off their demands for Arbitration alloying them to negotiate a fair contract with their employees.
Lets hope the Brandon School Division #40 will do the right thing and go back to the negotiations and hammer out a fair contract.
