Scary around speed bump

We have occasion to use the bike/pedestrian path along Aberdeen Ave just off 10th. I’m sure many of you will remember the terrible accident that claimed a life there a few years ago, a mixture of imprudent driving combined with the new bump. Just these last couple of days there has been two accidents there. The first resulted in a car going into the south ditch, no doubt a miscalculation in the slippery conditions and the bump, the second was almost a recreation of the earlier fatality on the south side, the only thing missing was a dead pedestrian. There are no barriers there with the exception of the metal posts placed at intervals along the walk. They were of little deterrence having been totally dislodged by the ditch bound vehicle. If everything had of been in place as it was on that fateful day there would have been another death or serious injury. A westbound person either walking or cycling wouldn’t even see it coming. I agree with the speed bump, prudent driving takes the threat from that. It is the careless drivers who are the danger. There should be a more substantial barrier between the road and the walkway.
