City Life vs. Rural Life

I will probably get beat up here but I have been wanting to get this off my chest, so here goes....
I see many topics on eBrandon from people who live outside the city who complain that they do not get the services like those who live in the city. No highspeed internet....No cable/MTS TV.....Terrible road conditions...... The list goes on.
Unless you are living on a working farm, my response is....You chose to live there.
You chose to live there to get away from the noise of the city. To be able to enjoy the outdoors. To be able to enjoy the quiet living that a rural setting gives you. You maybe have lower property taxes for your home, I don't know, but you chose to live outside the city limits.
Outside the city limits where highspeed internet is not as accessible.....where cable/MTS TV is not available....where pizza delivery is not available...where a hospital is no longer a 5 minute drive away and so on. You choose to live there. You have to take the good with the bad. The freedom with the inconviences.
I live in the city and put up with the little bit of noise, my smaller yard, my neighbours close by, the little bit of traffic and potholes. I don't live in a high crime area but there is always the potential.
But I can have my highspeed internet, my cable/MTS TV. Pizza delivery is nice and so is being 5 mins from work.
I love where I live for all the conviences it has. Sure, I would love the clean air and the open spaces, but the services available to me in the city mean more to me.
Realize that when you move to your little piece of paradise, it comes at a cost. And the cost is those are the services and conviences offered within the city.
(I feel somewhat better)
