Playing Cricket in Brandon

Hello to everyone on eBrandon!
On behalf of the Brandon Cricket Club, I would like to introduce you to a new sport in the community - Cricket.
The Brandon Cricket Club has originally been playing cricket in Brandon since 2002. This year our cricket club has seen a tremendous growth in member enrolment as an influx of new immigrants have recently moved to the city for jobs and/or education.
This summer the Brandon Cricket Club will be competing in the outdoor Manitoba Cricket League with some games in Brandon, Virden and Winnipeg. Beginning in mid-May, the club will hold practices once a week on Sunday's at the Kirkcaldy Heights School Ground. Everyone is welcome to participate and join our team - whether you're new to the game or an experienced player.
In addition, the Brandon Cricket Club is looking forward to promoting the sport amongst the children and youth this summer. Cricket is a fantastic team sport that deals a lot with speed, endurance, and strategy.
We wish to invite everyone out to our social fundraiser on Friday, May 8th at the Double Decker. It will be held from 9pm - 2am. In attendance will be a live band with some prizes to be won all night. Tickets are $10 and can be bought in advance or at the door.
With the money raised from the fundraiser, we will look towards investing it in a new pitch and ground where adults and children will have the opportunity to play in a safe and friendly environment for years to come.
Thank you for your support!
