5/5/2009 at 11:05 AM
Per Murray Blight's Bits & Pieces posted today, Council approved the newest street names to be used in the city last night.
From the agenda for last night's meeting, those streets are:
- Ericson Crescent
- Granville Crescent
- Kennan Bay
- Portola Drive
- Hedin Crescent
- Ingstad Way
- Frobischer Crescent
The streets are all a part of the latest extension of VBJ's "Woodlands" subdivision.
From the council agenda, here is further info on each street's namesake:
Portola Drive
Gaspar de Portola a Rovira (1716-1784), soldier, explorer of San Diego and Monterey (California).

Kennan Bay ** I think this name should actually be Keenan Bay, as per spelling of namesake's last name.
Captain John Keenan (1835-1910), whaling ship captain and explorer.
