Camper Trailer, 5th Wheel or Motorhome???

We are looking into buying a camper this summer, but have never owned one before and we are very naive about the subject. So, from those of you who have one, or had one, what would you say are the pros and cons of a pull behind trailer vs. a 5th wheel camper vs. a motorhome? Also, how do make sure that the camper you buy can safely be pulled by a 1/2 tonne pick up truck, or can any truck pull any camper? Any other information would be appreciated as well! Thanks!
