Ignorance is bliss

I pride myself in not judging without being informed first. Granted that, at times, it's being a battle. I've been following your discussions here and eventhough it's off topic, I can't help but comment on your perceptions of 1st and Rosser. First off, several studies were conducted that were conclusive in stating that it would be absolutely safe to build a fire hall on that site. Kudos to the Firefighter's union for running an effective smudge campaign that essentially kiboshed the idea of using that site. The alternative, which was ultimately used, was to entrap the contaminates with an impenetrable barrier that would allow nothing to seep in or out of the contaminated area. Is the area safe for developement... no! But as a park....absolutely! As for the cost of this, it was 50/50 between the province and the City. Unfortunately, legislation doesn't allow us to go after the real culprits namely Shell and the person that owned the scrap metal yard. I heard that area was filled with old battery casings.
You are all your own person, so judge away but I have always believed it's better to read the book rather than just jumping to the last page.
