Is it just me, or are Brandon schools completely useless? My oldest child goes to King George, has been harassed for 2 years now by the same group of kids, and when she finally stands up for it, guess who's parents got a phone call from the school?  
 
She has repeatedly tried talking to the useless principal and councilors. It's not just this school either. She started off in Meadows and even in grade 1 she had kids from as high as grade 6 harassing her.  
 
Is the damn school board so scared of bullies that they let them run unchecked? The sole reason my child is harassed... Because she doesn't dress like a slut, act like a slut, carry a cell phone, and actually DOES her damn school work! She does it so well she's actually taking more advanced work then the rest of the kids in her class.  
 
When I informed the principal at Meadows when the trouble was occuring there that I was going to contact the bully's parents I was informed that I would be charged with harassment and that my child would recieve an expulsion from the BSD, meaning BANNED from attending any Brandon school. Ever.  
 
And on another school topic, how about today's MANDATORY ATTENDANCE city wide farce (track) meet? We were sent a letter home stating that my oldest HAD to participate in 3 events. She HAD to be there at 8:45 SHARP and the WE had to be there to pick her up at 3:00 SHARP!!!  
 
I have another child in Kindergarten, who herself HAD to be at school at 8:45 SHARP!!! Now according to the slip sent home, the school was NOT responsable for transprotation to this farce meet.  
 
WHAT THE BLOODY HELL? If it is a mandatory school function, the SCHOOL should be responsable for transporting the kids to and from. What about my neighbor across the street who has no vehicle and now has 2 kids that will be disaplined because they couldn't go?  
 
My child, although far from inactive, doesn't like or want to do school sports because like me, she believes it teaches nothing to these kids except how to hurt others, how to bully others, and how to tease those who aren't sports inclined.  
 
20 or 30 years ago, school sports indeed DID teach things like sportsmanship, teamwork, fair play. Now all it teaches suck up to the gym teacher to get a free pass through school.  
 
Cut the damn sports money by 90% and put it back where it belongs... In kids BRAINS! Scrap the damn sports and buy books, musical instruments, staff with more then 3 braincells and actually CARE about the students.
