I work downtown and I had a couple min to kill so I picked up some garbage. Another co-worker asked if I was on the clean up crew. My answer to him was if everyone picked up 2 pieces of garbage a day how much cleaner would our city look.  
Just got back from getting the mail at the end of our street and again picked up some garbage and one beer bottle ( i'm up a dime ).  
I don't know why alot of people have to chuck thier garbage out on the street?  
I seen a kid, he would be about 14 drop his garbage on the ground and start to walk away. I called him over and asked why he couldn't just put it in the garbage can that I pointed at. He said " what are the garbage police". My reply to him was. When and if you ever own your own house I hope every kid, every night chuck their garbage on your front lawn. He looks at me with a puzzled look.  
Only 2 pieces a day will take your maybe 60 sec.
