A Manitoba woman who's son was seriously injured in a voluntary form of fighting known as a beat-down is urging parents to talk to their children about the "stupid" stunt.
Rae Schwaub told CBC News that her 19-year-old son needed surgery to repair a ruptured spleen after he participated in a beat-down Sept. 4 in Brandon, Man.
"He was in a party with a group of friends on the Friday of the long weekend, and agreed to go to what the kids call a 'beat-down,' " Schwaub told CBC News. "It's a pre-arranged fight between two of the guys and a bunch of kids go along to witness."
Have the police laid any charges? There seems to be a fair amount of coverage between eBrandon and the Sun. Has anything took place since?
