It looks like the position of Manitoba Public Insurance chair will be staying in Brandon. Per the press release below that was sent out by the Provincial government a half hour ago, local lawyer Jake Janzen has been appointed to the position. Janzen of course replaces Shari Decter-Hearst, who resigned in order to focus on her upcoming mayoral campaign.

SELINGER APPOINTS NEW CHAIR OF MANITOBA PUBLIC INSURANCE
Veteran lawyer Jake Janzen has been appointed as a director and
board chair of the Manitoba Public Insurance Corporation (MPI),
Premier Greg Selinger announced today.
"I am pleased to welcome Jake Janzen, a local Brandon resident,
as the new board chair of MPI," said Selinger. "His past
experience and indisputable qualifications will undoubtedly be an
asset to the corporation and to all citizens of Manitoba."
Janzen has practised law at Roy, Johnston & Company LLP in
Brandon since 1983. He has practised in the areas of personal
injury, labour and employment law and, more recently, insolvency
law. Janzen has also been board chair of the Credit Union
Deposit Guarantee Corporation since 2002, chair of Mental Health
Review Board of Manitoba since 2003 and is past chair of the
board of governors of Brandon University.
"I am confident the new chair, along with the help of the
existing board, will continue the good work of his predecessor by
providing leadership and feedback to government as we work
together to continue to provide affordable, quality automobile
insurance in Manitoba," said Attorney General Andrew Swan,
minister responsible for Manitoba Public Insurance. "I would
like to thank outgoing chair Shari Decter Hirst for all her work
and dedication to MPI throughout the years."
