ROBINS IN JANUARY
1/11/2010 at 7:35 PM
could anyone PLEASE explain to me why I am seeing so many ROBINS at this time of year?? I thought they were a migratory bird. I was driving out near KOLA today [a little place almost on the Sask. border] and I saw litterly dozens of Robins....maybe even 100 or more. Nowhere else, just in areas near Kola. I was NOT mistaken...Good Grief everybody knows what a Robin looks like. Are they very very mixed up?? Are they late hatch birds and don't know how to migrate?? If they are a migratory bird why have they not froze to death already this winter?? I have lived in this area for all my life and I have never saw Robins in January before...what gives?? Maybe signs of an early spring?? Maybe global warming?? Maybe some sort of toxins messed with their brains?? There are no Horned Larks back yet [the first birds normally to migrate North in late winter] WHY are all these Robins here??
