Summer Birds wintering here

This afternoon I seen a American Kestral sunning himself one block south of Richmond on 13th.He was all puffed up perched in a tree...he basically ignored us when we drove and stopped to look at him..normally these guys are out on the hydro wires in the country and as soon as you park...they are off.Guess he was conserving his energy after surviving this much of the winter so far.My Mom has also seen some kind of hawk picking off sparrows near Princess and 13th this past week.That along with the flock of robins I seen January 14 has made this a strange winter for bird sightings for me.
