Rogers/MTS Partnership

Does anyone know exactly when this supposed partnership will take effect? I'm with MTS and am considering switching to rogers as their selection of phones is way better. Iphone, Sony erricson etc. Just wanting to know if these two companies join up will mts be able to get those phones?
