Christmas Parties

Where is a good place to hold a christmas party? Suppers are good ideas, but is there anyplace that may have an activity along with it.
In the past I went for a party at a local golf course (not naming names) they put on a buffet. I'm sorry, but it was sad. They did not have a variety of food and they ran out of the basic meal items. Needless to say, the ppl that went there that year, will not go back.
