heres the thing.. i live out by brecrest area, so a lot of the time my fastest route home is by driving north on 18th.  
 
almost always, i notice that the 18th southbound traffic gets the green light a minute or two before the north bound gets the green light as well..  
 
i have also noticed that when im southbound on 18th, the green arrow light comes on when no one is in the lane trying to make a left onto kirkaldy.  
 
this is certainly not helping the slow traffic by any means..  
 
and it does not make a whole lot of sense to me.. i wonder if one of the pylons directing traffic is putting weight on the sensor, or perhaps, there is some other reason for this..  
 
have any of you noticed this? or know why is happens?
