Skating park

I don't think you can even call it a mere "oval" anymore! Hubby & I took the kids yesterday morning and while the boy wasn't thrilled (he's not even 2 1/2), the girl & I stayed there for an hour & a half. Then she said she wanted to go back when the lights were on, but I didn't realize she meant the same day! Sure enough, we went back last night and killed another hour there!
But what a draw, eh? This is exactly the kind of thing to make Brandon world-class that's been brought up on this board time & time again. Last night what struck me was how they had music playing over a PA system, the huge amount of people there (but it wasn't overly congested), the fact that everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and everyone accomodated the more novice skaters by keeping clear as much as they could. Add to that the warming shack (but man, people need to use garbage cans!) and the outdoor bonfire, and I completely fell in love with it. I hope this is something that'll keep growing every winter, b/c I can see the family spending nights on end there just enjoying the atmosphere!
My humble opinion - a small toboggan hill for little kids (maybe less steep than the golf course) would just nicely top off the park. :-)
