House fires...

I read all the time that someones house burnt down, they have no insurance and are looking for donations. Don't get me wrong I am a generous guy, but do these same people drive around with no insurance on their cars? Some might say that they didn't have the money to afford it but when there is over 100 grand in damage I think that if they can afford that then they can afford the insurance. I know that if my house burnt down I would not be looking for help. There is always the reserve fund kept and the insurance to help me out. Just wondering on anyone elses thoughts.
