MPIC: What to do
9/13/2010 at 12:33 PM
Dealing with MPIC is rather difficult at times. After a recent front end collision (not my fault) the repairs were done to the vehicle, which is good, and the cosmetic apperance of the truck is great. Problem is, that MPIC is more concerned on how the vehicle looks, rather than how it runs. This vehicle had no issues prior to the accident, no strange noises, as it was a 2008 vehicle with low miles on it. Now, this vehicle makes a loud whinning noise, does not shift right, and if it sits for 5 days or longer without running, the battery is dead. I have talked with MPIC on this, and they told me that if I can prove this was a result of the accident, they would consider it, and it may be covered based on their decission. What needs to be done is to take it to a mechanic, and have them figure out what the issues are, and pay for the bill out of my pocket. The mechanic will forward the findings to MPIC and they will review what the problems are and decide if they will reimburse me or not. I know it has to be fixed anyway, but my problem is I know how this vehicle was before the accident, and know what is happening after the accident. This was a new vehicle when I got it, so it is not that it had been wrecked or driven hard prior to me. Just frustrating when you know it is issues from the accident, but you have to prove it to the adjusters
