Relationship between your dog and a clean carpet

This is just one of those bizarre, useless, meandering thoughts that don't have any relationship to anything, but.....
Anyone ever wonder about the relationship between the amount of time after the carpet cleaner leaves your house, and the amount of time before the family dog enters the freshly clean room, gives you one of those odd looks with his head slightly cocked to one side, then decides now would be a good time to vomit in the middle of the floor.
I swear it's embedded in the canine genetic code that the sight of a clean carpet is just "wrong" in the dog world. Or maybe he just doesn't like the smell of the soap they use, or something.
