Supported Employment
10/7/2010 at 1:45 PM
People living with a disability have long been an untapped labour source, but with the supports of local organizations and Brandon businesses, they are now becoming valuable, competent employees within our community.
Over 170 000 Manitobans are living with a disability in Manitoba, and because of services like Westman Coalition for Employment Opportunities, The Abilities Project and Career Connections they are given the chance to succeed in the work world.
October has been declared Supported Employment Month by the Province of Manitoba.
If anyone wants more information about hiring an individual that lives with a disability, please feel free to message me. Or if someone has a positive experience they would like to share with ebrandon readers I would love to hear them!!
