Questions about Brandon

Hi, I am looking to move from England to Winnipeg or Brandon. Is Brandon a good place to live, work and rise children. We are looking for a clean, friendly and low crime place to move to, is Brandon this place?
Before any says, yes I know its cold in Winter. Both my kids play Hockey and are looking forward to playing out doors. Does Brandon have good under 10s and 12s hockey teams?
