With yesterday's recount in the books and Len Isleifson officially having pulled off what to me is the biggest council vote shocker in memory, I just wanted to send out a thanks to Errol Black for his very long tenure on Brandon City Council. I may have never lived in his ward, but the role he played on council will be missed. Whether or not one always agreed with his opinions or stances, he always seemed to be the one willing to table the most difficult questions that the public deserved to have on-record answers to... In the big picture a critical part of a democracy. I hope that one of our fine new councillors will pick up that same ball and that Errol will consider maintaining a public voice on city issues.  
 
At the same time Riverview has elected a great and very qualified guy in Len and I hope that even the strongest Black supporters in what was obviously a divided ward will get behind him and give him a chance to represent the ward and carve out a legacy of his own!
