Electronic repair centers in Brandon

Hello, I am posting a recent experience which has really made me question one electronics repair center in Brandon. I have heard many more horror stories about this same place from others but I will post our specific experience here. We had an electronic device which quit working within a few weeks of initially using it. My opinion, although I am not the be-all and end-all, was that the problem was likely an internal electrical component issue and warranty should cover it without question. Upon taking it to the warranty service center in Brandon, they determined (after over a week) that the item had been physically damaged and was therefore not covered by warranty. No physical damage was detected before it had left my hands and a number of other persons that also "looked" at it saw nothing physically wrong with it. Unless we were visually impaired, I think we would have noticed any appreciable physical damage. As a result, I figured it was likely a minor issue due to perhaps a stress point giving way and therefore warranty should still cover it as a 'defect'. To add further insult, the repair center demanded payment for assessing the item despite the manufacturing company's policy regarding warranty claims. The manufacturer had the warranty center release the item without payment and upon receiving the item back, there is clear physical damage present that blew me away. This damage was done at the repair center and I question whether it was done after we said we would pick it up instead of leaving it there as they had originally suggested....because according to them the item was no good to us now. Sure wish I had the sense to take pictures of the device before it went in for 'repair'. On a side note, I complained to the manufacturer and asked if they can inspect the item for me at a more precise electronic level as if it turns out it should have been warrantied at that level, it would be pretty evident that the repair center was trying to pull something fraudulent. Anyone else had similar or less than impressive experiences?
