I was driving down Victoria Avenue past the old Sally's Bakery at 26th and Vic and was thinking....Darn! I wish I would have taken a picture of that place. The bakery was kind of a neat old place and I remember driving by many times and you could look into the store and see people in there buying bread, dounuts and whatever. Now that it is torn down I really wish I would have taken a few snaps of it just to look back at. I remember being younger and the stores on Rosser especially between 7 th and 9th on the south side where the mall is now. Places like Johnson's Drug store that use to be right in front of where the busses picked you up, the Metropolitan on 8th and Rosser, Brandon Musical and so on and so on. Does anyone know who might have a good archive of pictures that a person could copy ? I also remember so many stores that use to dot the city streets. I remember one above Richmond Avenue on 8th or 9th Street, some in the East End on Rideau Street maybe, can't be sure of that. So many places that we don't have anymore and it would be nice to have a picture to reflect back on. Any suggestions where a person might be able to start there own collection would be appreciated.
