Habitat For Humanity is an international, non-profit Christian organization with the goal of eliminating poverty housing. Based on a vision of justice for all people, Habitat For Humanity works in partnership with those in need to help them attain their goal - a simple and decent place to live. The goal at Habitat Brandon is to work to eliminate poverty housing in Brandon by building decent homes. HFHB was established in 1995 and has built/renovated 15 houses. They are a non profit organization with charity status (a tax number) and are governed by a Board of Directors. They have approximately 200 volunteers. NO payment is received by any volunteers or board members. The funds stay in Brandon except for our commitment to our 3rd world partner - Guyana.
Building homes in Brandon, even for HFHB, is a costly venture. In third world countries, it's costly for them as well. Habitat Brandon has been instrumental in helping build homes for more than 300 families in Guyana. That is incredible! The email sent to me was a scanned picture of the newsletter.
