Winter storm watch for
Brandon - Carberry - Treherne continued
Heavy snowfall and blizzard conditions possible late Friday.
The potential for severe winter weather exists over these regions.
A low pressure system approaching from the west is expected to generate strong southeasterly winds across southern Manitoba Friday. Snowfall amounts accompanying this system will range from 10 to 20 cm. Snow and strong winds may combine to create blizzard conditions over southern Manitoba Friday afternoon. Conditions are expected to improve Saturday afternoon. Environment Canada will continue to monitor this winter storm and warnings will likely be issued as the track of the low becomes more certain.
A winter storm watch is an alert of the potential development of severe winter weather. Persons in or near these areas should be prepared for developing adverse weather conditions and should listen for updated watches and possible warnings.
