Thanks for all your input on my last post "Questions about Brandon". I was over last week for 2 days and I have to say what a lovely city you have. I will be moving over in May to start my job and hopefully if my house sale completes in time my family will be joining me, if not they will come later.  
 
My question here is where are the best shops to buy things like TV, Beds, Furniture, etc without it costing the earth, I am trying to build a list?  
 
Also I may need to rent on a short term before buying a house(any ideas), so we can get to know the area. We would like to buy a house just out of the city, may be in a small town, with a bit of land. Is there anywhere I should avoid?
