I've been sitting on this all weekend and have only just calmed down to tell you my story. My 17 year old daughter was out with her friends at the bowling alley on Friday night. When they came out of the bowling alley there were 3 girls standing just outside the door. One of them asked which one of you is (insert my daughter's name) she said I am. Before she even knew what happened she was pulled to the ground with one girl holding her shoulders down and the other one started punching her. Her friends were trying to pull the girls off her but apparently the one holding her was a "big" girl. People walked by them and did nothing to intervene all though they may have called the cops once inside as they did show up but not till after the girls jumped in a car and drove away. There were also 2 boys there who were trying to help but also afraid because they were taught not to rough up a girl and were afraid of getting charged with assault. Thank God my daughter wasn't hurt badly. This was all over some rumor that my daughter had said some stuff about another girl who is now pregnant. My daughter said she didn't even know this girl was pregnant till these other girls started beating on her and has since spoken to the pregnant girl to clarify the situation. The pregnant girl had no knowledge of what was going on and was informed by my daughter that she has never said anything about her, ever. My daughter is a great kid, no drugs, not in to drinking, volunteer, church groups and has never made it a habit to judge others because that's how I've raised her. This just makes me so sick and angry. Of course I wanted to phone the BPS and press charges but my daughter is now too scared to do that and begged me not to because she's more afraid that they'll come back for sure and hurt her. I'm really torn about this but I have to respect what she's saying and pray this is the end of it.
