Downtown Greenway

Last year a City truck pulled up across the road from me (26th) and two men got out and proceeded to dig a hole in the side walk. Finally they erected a post with a sign on it. When I returned home one day I stopped to read this sign, and it was a picture with an arrow pointing up towards the sky, with the words Downtown Greenway. Under this is two symbols of a car and a bike, with the words Share The Road. Dumbfounded, I wondered, who the heck authorized the manufacture of this sign that maybe cost $100. Then I find there are at least two on every block.
If you continue north on 26th, you will end up at the Queen Elizabeth Park. Today in the B.S. I read there are over 60 of these signs to point out that they are on a designated cycle path even though there are no designated lanes for cyclists. Did the city council see this on Air Farce? If you don't like this reason for the signs, well how about they are there to encourage cyclists and motorists to co-exist on the road. I thought the traffic act covered this. Motorists have not been reading these signs, so the BNRC office at city hall is considering painting share-the-roads logos directly on the pavement. The organization is looking for "feedback", well how about spending your budget on something worthwhile that I can understand?
