Earth Day Celebrations

Celebrated every Aprill 22, Earth Day is the largest, most celebrated environmental event worldwide. More than 6 million Canadians join 500 milion people in over 180 countries in staging events and projects to address local environmental isues. Nearly every school child in Canada takes part in an Earth Day activity.
Here in Brandon the event is called "Earth Day at the Evans" located at Brandon University in and around the Evans Theatre. Opening Ceremonies will be at 12 noon and going to approximately 4:30 pm. Displays showing environmentally friendly techniques and information will be on display along with a few video's. This family orientated event is held annually and we hope to see as many people as possible. The City of Brandon will be giving away free bags of compost on a first come first served basis to individuals and families.
