Goodbye Roadway Inn
8/29/2007 at 11:12 PM
I must comment on the utter waste of materials in our society. The members of the Heritage Coop are about to demolish a multi million dollar residential complex, the Roadway Inn. This establishment could have helped out with the shortage of apartments for Immigrants, Social benefit recipients and low-income citizens of Brandon. What are they going to replace this residential complex with, but a new Gas Station and C store. Brandon is littered with abandoned gas stations, which are still environmentally challenged, and will stay that way until they fall into the city’s hands like the mess on First Street: I think Esso owned some of that land. I hope Mayor Dave is demanding a 1 million dollar Bond from the Coop to be used towards cleanup of this site in 25 years when it will be deemed obsolete by the Coop.
