Flying Pigs

Now that is disgusting.
Page 3 of the Brandon Sun has a picture of a dead pig and a large amount of entrails laying all over the intersection of 1 st. and Princess yesterday.
The truck was from East 40 packers and carrying rendering items, untarped, through a residential area.
Why was this truck there? Why not make use of the by-pass to get out of town - or was it headed to another location within the city?
And no tarp? One would expect loads like to this to be closed up pretty tightly. Never mind the smell, it can't be healthy to have that load splashing about in the back of the truck - surely some amount would be coming out all the time.
Yet another example of the need to force trucks out of residential areas and for an increase to inspection and compliance of the trucking indutry.
