Kids selling stuff door-to-door...do you buy??

We were talking about this at work today. A lot of the guys I work with have kids they said they not only buy from their own kids (though most of them draw the line at bringing it to work for their kids) they will always buy from a kid that comes to their door unless it's something from a catalogue.
I always buy girl guide cookies...especially the thin mint ones. They ALWAYS seem to send the little girl that is 9 different kinds of cute to our door and I always buy stuff. And usually her mom is standing at the end of the drive way all proud and I fear they'll slash my tires if I don't buy some of their delicious delicious cookies.
I never sold door to door when I was in school. My parents didn't think it was safe. Though when I was in elementary school I attended German Immersion School and would help our feeder junior high fundraise to send the German class to Germany. The idea was that when we were old enough the kids at the elementary school we attended would help us go to Germany. Anyway, I cheated. My dad was working on his MA and PhD in German Literature at the U of A when I had to do this so he would just take it to his Department (German department) at the University Alberta and say, "Do you want to make sure the younger generations keep speaking German and one day come here to study our beautiful language? Then buy some chocolate covered almonds." I always made a killing. But my dad always made me write a thank you note to the professors and staff who bought chocolate from me. I even had to once personally thank the Department head for buying the entire case.
Then in highschool we were suppose to sell chocolate for our band trip. My locker partner and I just set up shop selling the chocolate out of our locker at lunch time. Technically we weren't suppose to do that...oops.
So how many of you buy whatever a child is selling when they go door-to-door? Even if you don't need/want the item? And, did you sell things door-to-door when you were a kid?
