Spinning off from the firehall thread, I think the best solutions for traffic problems probably come from the people who actually drive in the city. If you could change one intersection, which one and what would you do?  
 
My pick? 1st and Richmond! That intersection needs arrows badly, even if they're like all the newer lights with the traffic-activated arrows. It's scary to try and turn north onto 1st Street coming east down Richmond! It never fails that I end up face-to-face with a big truck turning left the other way and I can't see past it. It doesn't help that Richmond seems to curve just a shade to the south past that and the oncoming traffic is actually blocked from your sightlines by any vehicle in the other turning lane.
