The "Power 20" Brandon's Most Powerful/Influential survey results are in... and according to you, Jack Jacobson is the most powerful person in Brandon.

From start to finish it was very close at the top between Mr. Jacobson, Brandon West MP Rick Borotsik and Mayor Dave Burgess. After that, it just goes to show how many different ways people see "power" with a surgeon, a judge, an entrepreneur, an ex-basketball coach and the school divsion superintendant all placing in the top 20 alongside politicians, business-people and prominent city staff.
A few random notes..
As much many may gripe about them, its clear that people on the average respect those that hold key political positions.. and the power and influence that go with.
Interesting to see Dr. Sonny Dhalla come in at #8. Dr. Dhalla also receiving three first place votes goes to show how much respect there is out there for the local surgeon.
It was fun to see the interest in this list from some of the individuals on it. Without naming names, there were more than a few on the list with friendly competitions between each other. There were times I'd be asked where things were at vote-wise, but had to be very non-specific so as not to spoil things.
I'm quite flattered by the 19 of you that chose myself (none of which was me.. I swear
). I tend to view this site as more of a conglamoration of everyone that uses it moreso than myself, but its great to see how many value it as a part of their day.
We'll have to do it all over again next year to see what kind of change there might be. Thanks to everyone who took part, everyone who submitted their nominations and thanks to eBrandon member O'Qua who started the idea with an initial discussion on here a few weeks ago!
